Our Process - Content Generation and Use of AI
Last Update: May 2025
At FirstPrinciples, our goal is to make complex scientific ideas more accessible without compromising on accuracy or depth. To do this effectively, we embrace tools that enhance our efficiency—most notably, artificial intelligence. While AI helps us work smarter, every piece you read on our Hub is ultimately the result of thoughtful human effort, careful research, and expert review.
Our editorial process varies depending on the type of article we’re producing. Many of our pieces are written by scientific writers, in which case AI plays a minimal role—used mainly to refine tone, improve clarity, or streamline grammar. In some cases, for example, when articles are developed in-house by our interdisciplinary team, we use AI tools like Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT and/or ChatGPT’s DeepResearch to assist with background information, summarizing dense technical material, or draft early versions based on a clear editorial structure.
Regardless of how an article begins, all pieces follow the same rigorous path before publication. Every draft is reviewed and edited by our scientific consultants—physicists who ensure accuracy, clarity, and context. From there, the article goes through a final editorial review with our internal team to ensure it aligns with our standards of readability, quality, and style.
We believe that transparency is key to building trust with our readers. While we proudly leverage AI to increase efficiency, no article is ever published without the significant involvement of our team and wider scientific community.
At FirstPrinciples, our use of AI helps us do more with less, so we can focus our energy on what matters most: making fundamental science understandable, engaging, and insightful.
